Blue Beyond

Review: This 4-piece band has madcap Maria Convery and gorgeous Gemma Dorsett sharing the lead vocals with  FLITNEY, Richard (backing vocals and guitar) and Gemma's dad Mark (guitar). They play covers of tracks by artists such as Bryan Adams, Eagles, Cockney Rebel, Crowded house, The Monkees, Van Morrison, Scissor sisters, James Taylor and even Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Its a little bit wierd to hear female vocalists singing "Brown eyed girl", "Layla", and "Take it Easy", if you know the lyrics, you'll understand why.

The lead singer MONTAGUE, Martin always gives an energetic performance of 60's-90's covers of tracks by artists such as Elton John, James Taylor, David Gray, Crowded House, Elvis, Robbie Williams, Eagles, Van Morrison, Don McLean, David Bowie, John Lennon, Dido, Keane, Snow Patrol, Maroon 5, Simon & Garfunkel, Jackson Browne, Tracy Chapman, Justin Hayward, Bruce Hornsby, Lionel Ritchie, Starsailor, Al Stewart, and The Style Council.

Kindred Spirit

Review: This 5-piece band has 8 members, SAMUELS, Elaine (Lead vocals, Guitar), JONES, Gavin (Violin) or JONES, Sim (electric violin / viola / guitar), BURKE, Joey (bass guitar), PARKER, Annie (flute / saxophone / whistle / harmonies), and MORGAN, Russell (drums and percussion). They play unusual arrangements of rock classics by artists such as The Eagles, The Kinks, Pink Floyd and Travis. This is complemented by some of their own compositions. Sometimes the lineup includes ROSS, Chris (bass guitar) and LOUDON, Hugo (Drums). Elaine also performs as a Duo with Gavin or Sim.
